Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, with regard to WE, we know that the government was going to give a contract worth almost a billion dollars. We know that the Prime Minister admitted he should have recused himself and that his family benefited to the tune of close to half a million dollars. We know that the government prorogued Parliament, seemingly to escape this.

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, I am going to ask my colleague if he thinks it is petty partisan politics for Parliament to want to know about why there was no investigation into alleged sexual impropriety at the highest levels of our Canadians Armed Forces? Is it petty partisan politics to want to know why the government gave an almost billion-dollar contract to someone who was friends with the Prime Minister?

Opposition Motion—Plan for Reopening the Economy  Mr. Speaker, I would like to respond to the comments from the member for Yukon. He said that someday, maybe, there will be adjustments. I am going to use the border as an example. Each month the Prime Minister simply says “It is closed.” There are families on either side of the border desperately wanting to reunite.

Health  Mr. Speaker, families want to be able to visit their loved ones in long-term care homes. Grandmothers want to hug their grandchildren. People in Point Roberts simply want to be able to go visit their doctor or their dentist. The government now has robust data on the efficacy of vaccines.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, I have to agree with my colleague about the plan. We both live in similar ridings. Sun Peaks Resort and Big White Ski Resort are beautiful ski resorts. They and have been hanging on. However, people from across the border come here. They own homes here. They are saying that they just need a plan.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, I certainly appreciate the very difficult work that my colleague has done on the health committee and as the shadow critic throughout this pandemic. The member talked about the need to keep an eye on the variants, that we need to be watching what is happening, but he also talked about other countries that have developed a plan.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, I did listen with interest to my colleague's speech. He certainly focused on some of the things the government has done in the past, some of which were done reasonably well and others, I would argue, were a complete failure. However, the motion is about the lack of a plan for the future.

National Defence  Mr. Speaker, the Minister of National Defence has been complicit in covering up allegations of sexual harassment against the former chief of the defence staff. It is appalling that on International Women's Day 2021, our women in uniform are afraid to speak out against sexual misconduct and inappropriate behaviour, all under the watch of our feminist Prime Minister.

COVID-19 Emergency Response  Mr. Speaker, there is an old saying that the best predictor of future behaviour is past behaviour. Historically, the government has responded to problems with simple symbolism and wishful thinking as opposed to well-executed plans. Similarly, its vaccine strategy has been based on one thing: hope.

The Economy  Mr. Speaker, the Liberals have expressed a desire to reimagine themselves with catchy slogans like “build back better”. Given their track record over the past five years, we need to be extremely skeptical about what this would mean for our country. Even before the pandemic, we had a failed infrastructure bank, capital fleeing the country and a unity crisis, all led by a scandal-ridden Prime Minister who continues to swamp the Ethics Commissioner with new cases and files.

Health  Mr. Speaker, when it comes to border closures, mask mandates, protective equipment and vaccine procurement, the government has been a day late and a dollar short. The U.K. realized the necessity of making vaccines domestically months ago, and their facilities are ready to go. We are an embarrassing 38th in the world in vaccinations per capita.
