Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, Canada was known as a safe country, but after eight years of Liberals and other parties that support them, such as the NDP and the Bloc, we are seeing an incredible increase in all sorts of crime, including auto theft. In Montreal, we have seen an increase of 100%.

Fall Economic Statement Implementation Act, 2023  Madam Speaker, the Liberals like to blow the horn about their announcements regarding housing. However, the fact is that we have the lowest number of housing starts since the 1970s. People are struggling. I live in the Vancouver area, and inaffordability is just skyrocketing with respect to being able to get a home or rent a place.

Canada Labour Code  Madam Speaker, in the past year, I have been visiting work sites throughout the Lower Mainland and on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. The Leader of the Opposition has been there, and we have had a great response, whether from the forestry sector, fishers, shipbuilding, welders or trades unions.

Official Report  Madam Speaker, I rise on a point of order. I would like to seek unanimous consent from the House to change my vote from last night on Bill C-56, Division No. 606, from nay to yea. I ran out of time and was unable to make that change then. I hope the House will allow me to change my vote.

Carbon Pricing  Mr. Speaker, after eight years of the Prime Minister, British Columbians are having a tough time making ends meet. Mortgages and rents are among the highest in the world. Gas prices are the highest in North America. Inflation on groceries has led to the longest lineups ever at food banks.

Public Accounts committee  Thank you very much. Thank you for joining us here today. I have some simple questions for whoever is responsible for education or is the spokesperson for education. I don't mean to be patronizing as I ask this, but what skills are needed or what education would be needed to be a doctor or a nurse?

Public Accounts committee  Yes. What skills and what type of education would you need to become a doctor?

Public Accounts committee  Thank you. That's correct. I was a teacher for many years. I know it depends on the type of teacher, but what would be some basic skills you would need to be a teacher?

Public Accounts committee  Thank you. Those would be some of the things: the ability to read, to write, to communicate. In the trades, if someone wanted to become a heavy-equipment operator or a welder, obviously, they would need training in the vocational skills. The point of the matter I'm trying to get to is that—I found it a bit offensive with the minister, and I wish she were here—she kept talking about colonial metrics.

Government Business No. 30—Proceedings on Bill C-56  Mr. Speaker, I know that the Liberals are patting themselves on the back for introducing the bill. Actually, what they should be doing is congratulating the member for Carleton, the Conservative Party leader, for bringing forth the building homes not bureaucracy private member's bill.

Government Business No. 30—Proceedings on Bill C-56  Madam Speaker, it is great that the Liberals stole our ideas to bring down the price of housing, especially units built for the rental market. We support that. However, does the member not see that out-of-control government spending has resulted in rampant inflation and interest rates that are hitting Canadians hard?

Government Business No. 30—Proceedings on Bill C-56  Madam Speaker, I am proof that there can be redemption. If I can see the light, there is hope for the Liberal Party. It is absolutely clear from one end of Canada to the other that it is a disaster. I totally endorse the removal of the carbon tax from coast to coast to coast.
