Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, we have heard again and again that women have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic. Women perform some of the major roles within long-term care. They are those care providers. Could the member talk about the fact that women are often underpaid in these roles?

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, I rise on a point of order. I apologize to my hon. colleague, but I believe he failed to mention he will be splitting his time with the member for South Okanagan—West Kootenay and I would like to provide him with the opportunity to do so.

International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination  Mr. Speaker, yesterday was the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, and I believe the government has failed to address the spread of misinformation and hate through social media and the growing divide in wealth and prosperity. I believe that the more disparity we see and the more people suffer and fight just to survive the greater all divides among us will grow.

National Defence  Mr. Speaker, our armed forces have a well-documented sexualized culture, which the Liberals promised to address in 2018. Since then, the Prime Minister has not only taken no real action to address this problem, but has actively ignored the issue. The Prime Minister admitted to knowing about the allegations of sexual harassment against General Vance, allegations he and his minister refused to act on.

Canadian Net-Zero Emissions Accountability Act  Madam Speaker, I am certainly hopeful the member for Davenport shows leadership within her own caucus to push the government toward that 2025 target. We know it is so important. I met with the Canadian Union of Postal Workers, which is putting forward its Delivering Community Power plan.

COVID-19 Emergency Response  Mr. Speaker, I would like to tell colleagues about my constituent Nancy Gatten. Nancy works at a grocery store in London and, like so many other women, she is a front-line worker in the service sector. Nancy is 63 years old and has diabetes. Her doctor told her to stay at home because she is at high risk for contracting COVID-19.

Canada—United Kingdom Trade Continuity Agreement Implementation Act  Mr. Speaker, I am not entirely clear on where the Liberals stand anymore. Maybe I was not clear before. I would like to hear some clarification from the hon. member. He was talking about the amazing wonders of investor-state dispute settlement mechanisms, yet we had the Minister of International Trade work really hard to make sure that ISDS and ICS, which are ultimately the same thing, made it into CETA.

Canada—United Kingdom Trade Continuity Agreement Implementation Act  Mr. Speaker, I always love hearing my hon. colleague speak. He does it so well, and he is so concise about all the different issues. I really appreciate that. One of the things that he so brilliantly talked about was, again, the corporate agenda, and the defence of Liberal after Conservative after Liberal after Conservative governments negotiating trade agreements that are not good for workers, women, dairy farmers, or so many people.

Canada—United Kingdom Trade Continuity Agreement Implementation Act  Madam Speaker, I am so happy to hear my colleague speak. One of the things he mentioned was supply management. Under CETA, dairy farmers lost quite a large percentage of their supply-managed sector in the market, but they were provided with compensation. Under CUSMA, the government has not provided compensation.

Canada—United Kingdom Trade Continuity Agreement Implementation Act  Madam Speaker, I am concerned about the fact that under CETA, imports from the EU have increased while the trade deficit has increased for Canadian exports. This has obviously hurt a lot of businesses, so the fact that we are ultimately adopting the same agreement causes problems.

International Women's Day  Mr. Speaker, I also want to wish all women a happy International Women's Day. In particular I salute all my female colleagues who were elected to this chamber since 2019 and in the years prior to that who have helped break down barriers for us all. Of course, it goes without saying that we need more women in this House.

National Defence  Mr. Speaker, on International Women's Day it is important to acknowledge the fact that women who report sexual harassment and violence are often not listened to or taken seriously, making it hard for them to come forward. The Liberal government has proven through recent incidents that it is a part of this problem.

Petitions  Madam Speaker, I have the honour to table two petitions. The first is e-petition e-2977. There are increasing concerns in my riding, within the City of London and across all of Canada, that groups have been gathering in protest and distributing leaflets displaying extremely graphic images of allegedly aborted fetuses.

Petitions  Madam Speaker, the second e-petition, e-2881, is about relationship violence in any form: physical, emotional, spiritual or financial abuse, or negative social control. The petition talks about violence in relationships impacting all Canadians and children; how the behaviour is learned intergenerationally, which normalizes violent behaviour; and the cost to Canadian society due to the loss of economic productivity and wages, social services costs and so on.
