Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, those unfortunate people who have to go through food banks also expect honesty. The statements coming from the opposition are misleading and they are political mischief. Let us go through what the motion is about: $3.1 billion of missing funds outlined in chapter 8, that is what is mentioned.

Alberta Sports Teams  Mr. Speaker, central Alberta's sports teams have seen an excellent start to 2013. Last week the Red Deer Optimist Chiefs hockey team, coached by Doug Quinn, won the 2013 Telus Cup in Sault Ste. Marie, claiming Canada's 40th national midget championship. The Chiefs also won this championship last year, becoming just the fourth team ever to win back-to-back gold medals at the national midget triple-A hockey tournament.

Natural resources create hundreds of thousands of jobs, billions in economic growth and billions in social services across Canada. Keystone XL is an important project for the future health of the Canadian economy, with Canada losing $50 million a day due to a lack of market access.

The Budget  Mr. Speaker, from another perspective, we can think about many jobs. He mentioned the issues that were taking place in the automobile industry. We can think back to all the projects that are sitting on the shelf right now in so many areas simply because we cannot get the trades people there.

The Budget  Mr. Speaker, we have constantly been trying to make changes to the EI program that are going to be best benefit individuals. This new concept with the Canada job grant is one of those things that is going to be looking at all possibilities. We have to recognize the fact that we are looking into this and in a year's time we are going to be spending time speaking to each and every one of the provinces, trying to get input from their positions and their points of view.

Leader of the New Democratic Party of Canada  Mr. Speaker, last week the NDP leader travelled to Washington D.C. and attacked Canadian jobs and Canada's national interests. Tens of thousands of workers on both sides of the border are counting on the Keystone XL project for jobs and economic growth. Premiers, union leaders and even members of the NDP support this project because of the jobs it would create for Canadians.

Justice  Mr. Speaker, since this government was first elected, we passed more than 30 measures to improve the confidence of Canadians in our justice system. In order for Canadians to have confidence in the justice system, they must know that police officers are who they say they are. Personating a peace officer is a serious offence, which must be condemned by this House and all members.

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, our role as parliamentarians is to try to work our way through and take some responsibility ourselves for the types of things that are required. It seems that it is a little bit easier for the opposition to simply say, “We do not really want to do any work, but we will say that whatever has happened in this report or some other report is where we are going to hang our hats”.
