Criminal Records Act  Madam Speaker, the point about making it automatic was put forward by my colleague, the member for Yellowhead, who had a distinguished career in law enforcement, so I believe that is something the government should look at. However, this is the same government that so bungled the Phoenix pay system, so I worry about what system it would put forward.

Criminal Records Act  Madam Speaker, I will be pleased to speak to Bill C-93. However, before I do, I want to congratulate all my fellow Albertans celebrating carbon tax freedom day. I also want to thank the new provincial government in Alberta for keeping its promise, which is something my friends across the way do not know.

Petitions  Mr. Speaker, I am pleased to present a petition on behalf of several hundred people from my riding that calls on the government to amend the Criminal Code to prohibit Canadians from travelling abroad to acquire human organs, removed without consent, as a result of a financial transaction.

Juvenile Diabetes  Mr. Speaker, for over 40 years, JDRF, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, has been a global leader in the search for an end to type 1 diabetes through both research funding and advocacy. One of those helping achieve this goal of a cure is JDRF Edmonton youth ambassador Ava Sexton.

Business of Supply  Mr. Chair, what is the justification for the plan behind the proposed seventh and eighth AOPS that had not been considered before, when we only needed five?

Business of Supply  Mr. Chair, when journalists have contacted the minister's department with questions on Irving, the minister's department has repeatedly shared the question and the journalist's private information with Irving. Why?

Business of Supply  Mr. Chair, the minister says “issue”. It has happened three times. Why is he referring to only one issue? Why is this a repeated problem within his ministry?

Business of Supply  Mr. Chair, the minister does not know a lot of things, apparently. Did the minister look at perhaps buying any used, rusty subs from Australia before committing to rehabilitate our subs?

Business of Supply  Mr. Chair, will we be installing interoperability platforms in the Canadian surface combatants, much like Australia, Japan, South Korea and the U.S. have done, so we can have co-operative engagements with our allies?
