Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, we agree with the idea of setting up a committee to take a close look at things and analyze them. However, we need to think about what the best strategy would be. That is the purpose of committees, to look into such matters. Of course, our position on oil infrastructure is not the same as that of the official opposition.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, I thank my colleague for her question. The short answer is yes. Neo-liberalism is a poison. It is an unfair, ecocidal system that is not even effective. We must absolutely demolish it. We agree on that. Free trade in itself is quite beneficial to Quebec. We had to reduce our dependence on the Canadian market.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, first, I would like to say that I will be sharing my time with my esteemed colleague from Beauport—Limoilou. I am pleased to rise today as the Bloc Québécois critic for international trade. First, I would like to say that the Bloc Québécois supports the official opposition’s proposal to create a special committee to take a close look at Canada-U.S. economic relations.

Economic Statement Implementation Act, 2020  Mr. Speaker, I thank my esteemed colleague for his very cogent presentation. All of us in rural ridings have similar connectivity problems. I find it ironic that I can listen to satellite radio out of the United States, but I cannot get a cellphone connection everywhere I go. I know it is not the same technology, but when we think about it, a wave from Quebec does not reach everywhere while the one from the United States does.

Economic Statement Implementation Act, 2020  Mr. Speaker, the worst vacancy rate in Quebec is in Saint-Hyacinthe, with a rate of 0.3%. Real estate is a very complex and speculative field and has been the source of economic crises in the past. Still, I would like to know how such a vacancy rate is possible and what has caused it.

Aerospace Industry  Mr. Speaker, the Canadian government is completely ignoring the aerospace industry. At least 40% of the sector's workers have been laid off since the beginning of the pandemic. Obviously, it is not a good time to be working in the airplane manufacturing business, since airplanes around the world are grounded.

Aerospace Industry  Mr. Speaker, Quebec is a world leader in the aerospace industry, and Ottawa is ignoring our industry. We need a comprehensive policy to build the future. We need to ensure that government procurement, particularly in the area of defence, has economic spinoffs here. We also need to ensure that federal aid policies that benefit businesses also benefit workers and protect their jobs.

Canada-United Kingdom Trade Continuity Agreement Implementation Act  Madam Speaker, I admit that I am extremely surprised by what I am hearing. It makes no sense. This debate is getting emotional. Some members lack ethics or are voting no, as though they are not entitled to take a position of their own, and the Conservatives are in no position to talk either.

Canada-United Kingdom Trade Continuity Agreement Implementation Act  Mr. Speaker, supply management is a proven system that works. I would rather talk about promoting supply management than about defending it. Supply management is based on a very simple principle. Agriculture cannot be treated like any other commodity. It is as simple as that. Agriculture is too important.

Canada-United Kingdom Trade Continuity Agreement Implementation Act  Mr. Speaker, my goodness, I do not know where to begin. I was talking about all the benefits of the agreement and I said that it was very good for Quebec. I do not see what more I could add. Canada is a great country. Quebec will be a very great country as well. I must admit that I do not understand my colleague's arguments at all.

Canada-United Kingdom Trade Continuity Agreement Implementation Act  Mr. Speaker, I thank the member for Rosemont—La Petite-Patrie for his question. I also thank him for his ongoing support of supply management. If the investor-state dispute settlement system were implemented immediately, I would have been much harsher. However, since the process is fraught with challenges, we might as well say that will not happen with this agreement.

Canada-United Kingdom Trade Continuity Agreement Implementation Act  Mr. Speaker, I thank my colleague from Trois-Rivières. Current cheese exports are based on quotas given up in the agreement with Europe. After that, there was an agreement between Europe and the U.K. about previously allocated quota. It is a step backward, but that is because of the previous agreement.

Canada-United Kingdom Trade Continuity Agreement Implementation Act  Mr. Speaker, I thank my colleague for the question. That just adds to the absurdity of it all. Before the holidays, we were asked to study an agreement without access to the document. We were told that it was just transitional. To say that is to minimize the importance of it. We were told to adopt it before December 31, that it was urgent.

Canada-United Kingdom Trade Continuity Agreement Implementation Act  Mr. Speaker, I am very pleased to rise today as the Bloc Québécois critic for international trade and speak about the Canada-U.K. trade continuity agreement, or CUKTCA. CUKTCA seeks to ensure that the flow of trade between Canada and the United Kingdom remains unimpeded. Let us remember that Canada and the European Union are bound by a free trade agreement, the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement, or CETA, and that the United Kingdom's decision to leave the European Union put an end to the provisions that connected London and Ottawa.

Canada-United Kingdom Trade Continuity Agreement Implementation Act  Mr. Speaker, I commend and thank my colleague from the Standing Committee on International Trade for her presentation and for outlining the government's many failures on this file. I am wondering whether the agreement on trade continuity between Canada and the United Kingdom is a carbon copy of the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement with the European Union.
