Canada Labour Code  Mr. Speaker, I thank my colleague for his question. As I mentioned in my own speech, it is important to protect the French language everywhere. It would be despicable if a province acted in retaliation and decided to subject its francophone minority to a law to protect the English language.

Canada Labour Code  Mr. Speaker, I thank my colleague for his very relevant and interesting question. Indeed, the white paper does not go far enough. The best way to put words into action and walk the talk is to support the passage of Bill C-254, so that federal institutions in Quebec will apply the Charter of the French language.

Canada Labour Code  moved that Bill C-254, An Act to amend the Canada Labour Code, the Official Languages Act and the Canada Business Corporations Act, be read the second time and referred to a committee. Madam Speaker, I am both proud and humbled to begin, with my colleagues, the second reading of Bill C-254, an act to amend the Canada Labour Code, the Official Languages Act and the Canada Business Corporations Act, to apply the Charter of the French Language to federally regulated workplaces.

Canada Labour Code  Yes, Madam Speaker, I meant the hon. member for La Pointe-de-l'Île. Thank you very much. The purpose of this bill has the consensus of the National Assembly of Quebec. Every living premier and every union is calling for the Charter of the French Language to apply to federally regulated businesses.

The Budget  Madam Speaker, as my colleague pointed out, large sums of money are earmarked for distribution in the budget, yet some sectors seem to have been forgotten. The budget seems to leave out SMEs, especially those in the arts, culture and tourism sectors. What does my colleague think about the abrupt, unilateral termination of support measures like the wage subsidy, when these businesses need them to continue until 2022?

The Budget  Madam Speaker, I share my colleague's dismay about the spending and where it is going. I am also concerned about the fact that this budget could be summed up in one word: intrusion—intrusion into Quebec and provincial jurisdictions. I would like to hear my colleague comment on these intrusions.

The Budget  Madam Speaker, the government refuses to take action in response to the unanimous request of Quebec and the Canadian provinces to permanently increase health transfers to 35% per year. Permanent transfers are a way to make long-term investments to help people in terms of their health, the economy and employment, which will affect their ability to afford housing, food, clothing and so on.

The Budget  Madam Speaker, my colleague spoke about how the budget will help with job creation. From a holistic perspective, I have to wonder. Increasing health transfers would lead to better care, since new equipment could be purchased. This would create jobs, including jobs in health care systems.

The Budget  Madam Speaker, I would like to pick up on the idea of a she-covery and the importance of women in the workplace. Not only are many women in the workforce, but they are also caregivers. The number of patients per nurse, most of whom are women, keeps rising because of diminishing health transfers and the government's refusal to grant permanent, sustainable, ongoing transfers.

The Budget  Madam Speaker, I want to come back to what my hon. colleague said. This budget proposes standards and agencies, as well as a $3-billion investment without providing any services to the public, which means more bureaucracy and consultation but without any additional services, at the end of the day.

Digital Charter Implementation Act  Mr. Speaker, there are thousands and even millions of applications. Some of these applications use games to draw people in, in the form of a quiz, for example. They then retrieve the information from the user's contact list. When the user gives their consent by clicking on the button, most often without carefully reading the rules, their contact list is sent to an organization or business.

United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act  Madam Speaker, self-determination means being in a position to accept or reject a project. It also means knowing who has the authority to do so. Unfortunately, the Indian Act is fundamentally racist, given its concepts and archaic nature. Bill C-15 is about reconciliation. Does my colleague believe that to achieve total and clear reconciliation, the Indian Act must also be changed?

Economic Statement Implementation Act, 2020  Madam Speaker, my colleague from Joliette is a brilliant economist who knows how to explain complicated things in a simple way. When we invest in something, we usually expect a significant return, one that is larger than our investment. Last June, I asked the Minister of National Revenue about the $1-billion investment to combat tax havens.

Canada Revenue Agency Act  Madam Speaker, this bill hits close to home for me, since I have family members who needed an organ donation and some of them died before they were able to get one. It is another step in the right direction, but my hon. colleague raised two equally important points. What can we do to improve education regarding organ donation so that the family does not go against the will of the person who chose to check off the box?

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, I would like to thank my colleague for his highly speculative speech. I could feel his indignation.
