Lobster Fishery Dispute in Nova Scotia  Madam Speaker, I thank my colleague from Tobique—Mactaquac. I really enjoyed his speech. Two things caught my attention. The first was his story. I love stories, and I thought it was a really good story that put things in perspective. I also noted that he used the terms “reactive” and “proactive” and stated that the government is reactive rather than proactive.

At the end of the day, from one debate to the next, from one emergency debate to the next—because we always need to have emergency debates with this government—it has become clear that this government is good at apologizing 50 or 100 years too late.

Lobster Fishery Dispute in Nova Scotia  Mr. Speaker, I thank my hon. colleague for his heartfelt speech. First, we in the Bloc Québécois strongly condemn criminal acts, expressions of hatred and racism against the Mi'kmaq. Everyone in the House witnessed this, and we cannot close our eyes and bury our heads in the sand.

Criminal Code  Mr. Speaker, I want to thank my colleague for his speech. I listened closely and he was sensitive and respectful of all the ways to look at this bill and of all the MPs who might be opposed to it. I think that is the way to approach this type of issue. We experienced that in Quebec City.

Criminal Code  Madam Speaker, I believe that two of my hon. Conservative colleagues in a row have spoken to us about palliative care and care in long-term care facilities, such as CHSLDs in Quebec. It seems to me that they are trying to sidetrack the debate. We are talking here about medical assistance in dying.

Criminal Code  Madam Speaker, the Bloc Québécois was the first to introduce a bill on this matter. I am thinking of two of our members, who have now passed on. One is Francine Lalonde, who introduced a bill on this topic, and the second is Father Gravel, who was bullied by certain religious lobbies, which even wrote to the Vatican to have him removed from his position and driven out of the Catholic Church.

Canadian Mining Companies  Madam Speaker, I recently had the opportunity to participate in a webinar about Canadian mining companies' shameful treatment of people in the Cordillera region of the Philippines and of the activists fighting for them. I was there to explain what kind of work a parliamentarian can do in such situations.

Criminal Code  Madam Speaker, I want to thank my colleague for his speech. I appreciated his knowledge on the topic and his compassion in all this. It is very important. The Bloc Québécois supports the bill in principle, as my colleague said earlier. I appreciate the fact that we can work together in a non-partisan way.

Criminal Code  Madam Speaker, I thank my colleague for his speech. The Bloc Québécois is in favour of the bill, as are the NDP and the government, obviously. However, we still do not know whether the Conservatives will support this bill. In Quebec City, we saw a good example of how all the parties decided to pass a bill without resorting to partisanship and attacking each other.

Judges Act  Madam Speaker, I obviously thank my colleague for his speech. The Bloc Québécois supports Bill C-3. Some people think we should cut the debate short and act faster. I personally think we have talked about this enough today. We will, however, continue with the debate. Does my colleague think any other professions should be subject to this kind of legislation, to make our world a fairer place to live?

Judges Act  Madam Speaker, we have been asking questions all day about why the Conservatives did not agree with the proposal to send the bill to the Senate as quickly as possible. I would like my hon. colleague to explain to me why the debates we are having here today are so important. Will they help get this bill passed any faster?

Judges Act  Madam Speaker, I would like to begin by thanking my hon. colleague from Longueuil—Saint-Hubert, whose speech was passionate and extremely relevant as usual. He tends to think outside the box, as they say. I am deeply grateful to him for his speech. I would like to know to what extent he thinks this bill will combat rape culture.

Judges Act  Madam Speaker, since we began our discussions this morning, I have noticed that some hon. members would rather that we not debate this type of topic. That amazes me because so far the testimonies have been heartfelt. I am very pleased to take part in this debate and to hear my hon. colleagues from all parties in the House on these very specific subjects.

Judges Act  Madam Speaker, I noticed that, from the beginning of the period for questions and comments, the member has only been asked questions about the debate. I am going to give the member a chance to talk about the content of this bill because I think that is important. Does he think that Bill C-3 needs adjustments and amendments or does he think it is good the way it is?

Two Businesses in Lac-Saint-Jean  Mr. Speaker, on September 28, two businesses in my riding unexpectedly won four awards at the virtual Gala des Mercuriades. The Coopérative forestière de Petit Paris in Saint-Ludger-de-Milot was honoured in the workplace health and safety SME category, while Serres Toundra in Saint-Félicien scored a hat trick with three wins, including SME of the year.
