Questions on the Order Paper  Mr. Speaker, with regard to (a), there is currently work being conducted on the exterior of the Confederation Building to preserve the building and ensure ongoing operations until the building undergoes a complete rehabilitation. To protect the integrity of the weather vane during this construction, it was removed and is being stored in a Crown-owned facility while the Confederation Building undergoes its restoration.

Athletic Coaches  Mr. Speaker, I am pleased to rise today in the House to pay tribute to all of the coaches in Gatineau and across the country. We always take time to acknowledge the athletic achievements of our athletes, children and young people, but their coaches are often forgotten. I am sure each one of my colleagues had a coach who had a positive impact on them or on someone they know.

Petitions  Mr. Speaker, I am pleased to rise today to present the electronic version of petition e-1482. I presented the paper version, with 924 signatures, a few weeks ago. Last spring, Ottawa was hit by historic flooding. The petition calls on the government to consider the possibility of amending the Income Tax Act, specifically the section on RRSPs, so that victims of natural disasters can withdraw their personal savings to rebuild their homes without incurring immediate penalties.

National Public Service Week  Mr. Speaker, I am pleased to rise in the House today in honour of National Public Service Week. As the member for Gatineau, I have the good fortune to represent many public servants. This week, as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Public Services and Procurement Canada, I attended several activities to thank public servants for the important work they do every day.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, I take note of the NDP's motion today. Alberta's NDP government must be taking note of it as well. It must be concerned about the content of this motion. The hon. member sits with some members from the Quebec regions, such as Abitibi-Témiscamingue and northern Quebec, that have benefited from investments in infrastructure, including the northern plan for developing the mining sector in northern Quebec.

Points of Order  Mr. Speaker, I am seeking the unanimous consent of the House to move the following motion: That the House: 1) send good wishes for the G7 summit in Charlevoix; 2) protect the right to protest, but condemn potential acts of violence; 3) thank and congratulate the police forces that will be deployed this week to keep residents and visitors safe; and 4) support the enforcement of the same guidelines for compensating residents and business owners in the Charlevoix area and in Quebec City as those enforced by the Harper government in Huntsville in 2010.

Budget Implementation Act, 2018, No. 1  Madam Speaker, we have 600,000 new jobs, most of them full time, and the lowest unemployment rate on record. Nine out of 10 families are better off under our Canada child benefit. Infrastructure is being built, including in the member's home region. This country is leading the G7 in growth, and the member dares compare this budget bill with budget bills of the past, bills that amended the Navigable Waters Protection Act and repealed the long-form census.

Petitions  Mr. Speaker, a year ago, my riding, Gatineau, and many parts of western Quebec and eastern Ontario were devastated by spring floods. Hundreds of properties in my riding were seriously damaged. One of my constituents, Silvy Lemay, initiated this petition calling on the government to allow Canadians who wish to rebuild or renovate their homes to do so using their savings and their RRSPs without penalty, as is done under the program for first-time home buyers.

Canada Post  Mr. Speaker, I thank the member for her intervention on this issue and, indeed, on the future of Canada Post. We too are committed to a bright future at Canada Post. We too are committed to workplaces free of harassment and bullying. We too are taking measures, including the passage of Bill C-65, hopefully very soon, and other active measures that will govern workplaces to make sure that we have a climate of respect, collaboration, and harmony in Canada Post and beyond.

Canada Post  Mr. Speaker, it is a pleasure to be here today to discuss this very important issue. I can perhaps shorten the length of the wait. I too was happy to join the Minister of Public Services and Procurement in meeting with the national president of CUPW and several of his colleagues to discuss this very issue.

Natural Resources  Mr. Speaker, I have a great deal of respect for the member for Saanich—Gulf Islands. Obviously, we can disagree without being disagreeable. I, too, have a couple of sources. The TD Bank has calculated that Canada's reliance on oil exports to the United States has cost the Canadian economy $117 billion over the last seven years.

Natural Resources  Mr. Speaker, with all due respect to my friend from Saanich—Gulf Islands, I am going to have to do this evening, as I am filling in my for my esteemed colleague, the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Natural Resources. I listened with interest to the member's remarks and her efforts in myth-busting with respect to Kinder Morgan.

Business of Supply  Mr. Chair, I know the minister will continue to brilliantly represent Canada as it has its voice heard on all of these global stages. As I have finished my speech, I want to go back to provincial transfers. We know that this is one of the main ways that Canada has invested in skills training for adults, and in training in general as well.

Business of Supply  Mr. Chair, I am afraid I am going to change the subject rather abruptly and turn a bit to the other important involvement of our finance minister. Thanks to some of his predecessors, such as Mr. Martin, our incredible presence on the global stage, and our incredibly important presence at global institutions like the G20, which I know Mr.
