I'd like to start off with Mr. Diamond. You mentioned the case of Huseyin Celil. We've heard before from Irwin Cotler, who is with your centre. Are you aware of the case of Idris Hasan, who is being held right now in Morocco?

Subcommittee on International Human Rights committee  Thank you for that. I'd like to turn to Ms. Deif. Thank you for being here. You touched upon what's happening in India and the situation there. I'd like to give you some time to expand upon that.

Nowruz  Mr. Speaker, this week, more than 300 million people around the world are celebrating Nowruz. Nowruz, which means “new day”, celebrates the Persian new year and the arrival of spring. During this time, friends and families sit around the haft-seen table and exchange gifts, share food, and reflect on the year that has been and the year to come.

Arab Heritage Month Act  Mr. Speaker, it is a pleasure and an honour to rise in the House to speak in support of Bill C‑232, which would designate the month of April as Arab heritage month. I also want to thank the hon. member for Ottawa South for introducing this bill. I would also like to take a moment, given the context we are in right now with world affairs, to mark and speak about Ukraine.

Public Safety committee  Media. Great. So you heard about it through the media. Were you monitoring what was happening with respect to the convoy and the lawlessness around it?

Public Safety committee  Were you aware that states of emergency were called around the convoy, in particular on February 6 when Ottawa called a state of emergency, the City of Ottawa.

Public Safety committee  Were you aware that the Emergencies Act was brought into effect on February 15? Are you aware of that?

Public Safety committee  But at what point did you stop supporting crowdfunding for the convoy?

Public Safety committee  Thank you. I appreciate that comment. On the record we know the City of Ottawa on February 6 declared a state of emergency. The Government of Canada as of February 15 introduced the Emergencies Act where it has effect, and you ignored it. Do you believe that you should be respecting the laws of Canada as you do operations that touch upon this country?

Public Safety committee  Thank you for acknowledging that those laws must be respected. We heard from GoFundMe that 20% of their workforce deals with compliance. What percentage of your workforce deals with compliance to ensure, as you said, that our laws must be respected?

Public Safety committee  What exactly percentage, please? If you are the head of the organization and you cannot say it, that's shocking.
