Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, I thank my hon. colleague for his interesting and very broad question. My colleague is talking about two different problems. Personally, I think we can provide adequate support to our seniors. There are some cost increases that we simply cannot control. For instance, we will not control the private market or indexing.

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, I would like to mention that I will be sharing my time with my esteemed colleague from Manicouagan. I will start my speech on a serious note. I heard several people today talking about their party's achievements and saying that we, as an opposition party, are useless.

Agriculture and Agri-Food  Madam Speaker, here is some good news. For the first time in decades, Quebec saw an increase in its number of farms last year. Human-scale farming is what is popular among many new farmers. As the Union des producteurs agricoles or UPA explained, “Family farming, local agriculture and food processing on the farm are all factors that explain the increase that we saw last year.”

Environmentally Conscious Labelling  Madam Speaker, I can see that everyone in the House agrees that labelling is an important issue. However, we will not be supporting the motion either, unfortunately. This motion seems well intentioned. We agree that Canadians and Quebeckers are aware of the threat of climate change and want to change their consumption habits.

Economic Statement Implementation Act, 2020  Madam Speaker, I am very pleased to see that at least one government member understands that we want nothing to do with national health standards. Health falls under provincial and Quebec jurisdiction. It is set out in the contract that was signed without us. That is the first thing I wanted to mention.

Economic Statement Implementation Act, 2020  Madam Speaker, it is too bad you are asking me to be brief because I was elated at the prospect of giving my colleague a long list, but I will stick to a quick summary of what I said earlier. Right now, farmers need cash. Among other things, we are asking for an additional 5% investment in AgriInvest with no matching requirement for businesses.

Economic Statement Implementation Act, 2020  Madam Speaker, I thank my esteemed colleague. Simply put, the government needs to release support programs right away. What these businesses need is cash flow. My colleague mentioned the culture sector. Event spaces and theatres are still closed because people are staying home.

Economic Statement Implementation Act, 2020  Speaking of trust, Madam Speaker, I just want to start by telling my colleagues that the Bloc Québécois is who Quebeckers trust. Fortunately, we are here to talk about the content of the bill, so that is what I am going to do, because the Bloc Québécois works for everyone. Of course, the Bloc Québécois will vote in favour of Bill C-14 because it contains some positive measures.

Safe and Regulated Sports Betting Act  Madam Speaker, it is also an honour for me to speak to this bill. I think it is important to pass it at second reading and send it to committee. I would like to take this opportunity to commend the member from Saskatoon—Grasswood for introducing this bill and the member for Windsor West, who introduced it in a previous Parliament.

Broadcasting Act  Madam Speaker, I was pleased to hear our colleague emphasize the need to strike a balance between the players and the creation of a royalties system. I was pleased to hear her say that she would like a certain percentage to be francophone. From what I understand, she agrees with the Bloc Québécois proposal that 40% of the money should be allocated to francophone content.

Broadcasting Act  Madam Speaker, I thank my colleague for his speech. He seems to be arguing for as little regulation as possible. Does he not think it is important to have certain restrictions, especially rules around francophone content percentages, as the Bloc Québécois is calling for? I would also like to hear my colleague's thoughts on the fact that community-based media outlets have been all but forgotten in this bill and on the importance of making sure they get at least some recognition.

Canada—United Kingdom Trade Continuity Agreement Implementation Act  Mr. Speaker, I thank my colleague for his speech. Our colleague opposite spoke about the anxiety of businesses that are not considered essential. I would like my colleague from St. Albert—Edmonton to tell us about parliamentarians' anxiety when they have to work on international agreements without seeing the text, and the anxiety of supply-managed farmers who are always sacrificed at the last minute.

Canada—United Kingdom Trade Continuity Agreement Implementation Act  Mr. Speaker, I thank my colleague from Victoria for the great question. I will be brief, the answer to her question is yes. Yes, we must protect ourselves from that. The good news with respect to the U.K. agreement is that the dispute resolution process, which could give rise to such claims, will not come into effect for three years.

Canada—United Kingdom Trade Continuity Agreement Implementation Act  Madam Speaker, it is an honour to be given the floor by this new occupant of the chair. I am a bit flustered. I thank my colleague from the Green Party for the question. It is essentially the same question as before. I will reiterate my position. We are in favour of protecting the sovereignty of states because we are in favour of protecting the sovereignty of peoples.
