The Economy  Mr. Speaker, our farmers have had an extremely difficult year. First, they were left high and dry with free trade. They faced unpredictable weather. They lost crops during this fall's propane crisis. We are now on the verge of a new propane shortage, this time because the government will not take action on the rail blockades.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, I appreciate the comments from my colleague across the way who once again spoke about hope and reconciliation. However, as others have said, it is time to put words into action. We are in the midst of a national crisis. My colleague says that she is pleased that her prime minister is on the right path.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, I would like to begin by calling on the members of the House to respect the autonomy of the nations. The Wet'suwet'en nation is a nation just like those of Quebeckers and Canadians. It is not up to us, the MPs, to say who is right in the various groups that may form in that nation.

Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement Implementation Act  Madam Speaker, I congratulate my colleague on her speech. I would suggest that the reason the Conservatives are in no hurry and want to study these files is that they read agreements all the way through before signing them. I would like to ask my Conservative Party colleague to raise the issues the committee should look at so it can analyze their economic repercussions and so on.

Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement Implementation Act  Madam Speaker, I repeat that the Bloc Québécois is in favour of free trade. It is just that the Bloc Québécois reads contracts before signing them. I would like to be a merchant with something to sell and have my hon. colleague as a customer. For example, I could sell him a discounted car at a completely exorbitant price.

Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement Implementation Act  Madam Speaker, I thank my colleague for his very relevant question. As I said at the beginning of my speech, we in the Bloc Québécois generally support free trade agreements. In any case, our demographic and geopolitical situation requires them. I have also had meetings with grain, canola and beef farmers, to name just a few, who need international agreements.

Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement Implementation Act  Madam Speaker, I thank my distinguished colleague for his question. During yesterday's and today's question period, we very clearly demonstrated that when the Liberal government cites the support of Quebec's government, it is very specific and incidental, and it is chosen very selectively.

Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement Implementation Act  Madam Speaker, I want to thank my colleague for the great question and for the joke. A sense of humour is essential for sitting in the House. He asked a great question. The costs need to be assessed. However, since negotiations are still ongoing for some sectors, that is very hard to do.

Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement Implementation Act  Madam Speaker, this debate on CUSMA is an opportunity to learn the details and ramifications of the agreement. This is not about playing politics. People are just trying to do their jobs. As members of Parliament, our job is to work for the people who are put at risk by this agreement.

Supply Management  Mr. Speaker, the Bloc Québécois has recently been focusing on CUSMA's failure to protect aluminum workers. I want to reiterate that we will never forget that this agreement was reached at the expense of Quebec's dairy producers. It is scandalous that the government breached supply management three times in three consecutive agreements.

Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement Implementation Act  Madam Speaker, I see the two main parties passing the buck back and forth and blaming each other for past failings in various deals over the years. What does all this really amount to? Concessions have been granted over the years, especially in supply management, and now in the aluminum sector.

Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement Implementation Act  Madam Speaker, I would like to congratulate my colleague for his excellent intervention. The Bloc Québécois is also concerned about these agreements being negotiated behind closed doors, because the details are often slow to emerge. For instance, does my colleague know that the Canadian government agreed to limit exports of milk by-products, milk protein concentrate and infant formula to countries outside the agreement?

Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement Implementation Act  Madam Speaker, I listened to what my colleague across the way said. I was reassured to hear that he seems to care about supply management. However, recent history proves otherwise. The government often promises to protect this system but, every time, it ends up giving up a little chunk.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, I thank my colleague from Surrey—Newton for his speech. We are talking a lot about investments. In his speech, the member repeated that the money is there. The reality on the ground, however, is that many projects are being blocked because the federal government is imposing conditions that are far too strict.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, I commend my colleague for his speech. I would like to rephrase the question I asked earlier. With all due to respect to the hon. member who answered my question, I found his response to be unclear. We often share the same views as our NDP colleagues when it comes to social issues.
