National Defence committee  As those security clearances are updated or upgraded, again we have opportunities to disclose their obligations under the Security of Information Act and again, as I mentioned earlier, when members release, we have them fill out a specific form that requires them to acknowledge their obligations under the Security of Information Act as they retire. That's the final reminder, before they become regular Canadian citizens, that they must protect this information because it's important not only for the security of our members of the Canadian Forces but also for the security of Canada.

Public Accounts committee  There were real people behind that, real Canadian public servants. Simultaneous to the thank yous we heard across the country from regular Canadians and even from elected officials, what happened was this unfortunate reality of seeing that work not get the same level of credit. It's incumbent on me, being a labour representative in some ways, that we look at the conditions that gave rise to that.

The Economy  They gave $28 million to Liberal donor Pierre Guay for Roxham Road, and they shovelled over $54 million to a couple of guys sitting in their basement who created the ArriveCAN app, which should have been built for under $250,000. Why is that Liberal insiders under the Prime Minister always get rich while regular Canadians have to pay more for heating, eating and—

Public Accounts committee  This is a pretty large issue for Canadians, particularly in relation to the pandemic. The pandemic has certainly changed how the government and regular Canadians look at their own emissions. We've seen across the country and the world a global reduction in greenhouse gases because of the pandemic and reduced activities. I think it was Mr.

Business of Supply  They did not have to worry anymore, because the Harper government, with its greed, was more interested in giving money to them than to regular Canadians. What did it do for regular Canadians? We saw that; we were in the House as the Harper government gutted pensions, as it ripped them away, as 65- and 66-year-olds were told no, they did not have a pension anymore and were not eligible for a pension.

Declaration of Emergency committee  That said, these events also galvanized the country and demonstrated the ability of our national security organizations, police agencies, public institutions, elected officials, civic leaders and just plain regular Canadians to resolve a highly volatile national security crisis without any loss of life or serious bodily harm. The events around the “freedom convoy” represented a paradigm shift in terms of scale, planning, logistics, finances, counter-intelligence, civil disobedience, etc.

Business of Supply  We have such voice. We have such opportunity. We all have access to benefits and wages that regular Canadians do not have, and we have an obligation, when we stand in this place, to think of those people and make sure that all Canadians have access to those things, the same things we have and our families have.

Canada-China Relations committee  We take that very seriously. It's a subject that we have regular conversations on, including with regular Canadians, but when it comes to documenting actual incidents and following them up on Canadian soil, we need them to also engage the police services to so.

Cost of Living Relief Act, No. 2  Is he not similarly concerned that more needs to be done to tilt the market back toward regular Canadians, young people, for example, who are looking to afford rental housing in communities across the country?

Child Health Protection Act  At the heritage committee, when it came to a vote on my amendment, it had NDP support, but the Liberal Party voted it down. It was puzzling that, for the Liberals, who want to control the posts of regular Canadians and now target food advertisers, porn companies get a free pass when it comes to our kids. I will say it again: Predatory companies such as MindGeek should not have unlimited access to our kids online.

International Mother Language Day Act  Meanwhile, UNESCO estimates that 75% of indigenous languages in Canada are endangered. Regular Canadians, settlers, have also been victims of Canada's colonial history. Regular Canadians, settlers, have been robbed of their sense of being Canadian. After all, many are proud of being Canadian.

Indigenous and Northern Affairs committee  Just very briefly, I would love to hear your personal story of how you've come to this important view of having such great values and ensuring that more people work with first nations, Métis and Inuit, because it's not very often that we hear regular Canadians talking about the importance of working with indigenous leadership. I would love to hear how you came to that realization.

Procedure and House Affairs committee  Despite this, Canada's national security agencies, police services, public institutions, elected officials, civic leaders and regular Canadians worked together to successfully end this highly volatile national security crisis without any loss of life or serious injuries. Unfortunately, this crisis also exposed long-standing structural issues that now need to be formally assessed and effectively addressed to improve public safety for all Canadians.

Preserving Provincial Representation in the House of Commons Act  Now, in a minority Parliament situation, which would happen more often and more significantly under an electoral reform and a voting system where every vote counts, we would be able to achieve more for Canadians. The neglect of regular Canadians that we have seen over decades, while hundreds of billions have been given in handouts to banks and billionaires in overseas tax havens, would have to cease, because ultimately the NDP would have a greater representation in the House and be able to push hard for a better response to what working people are going through.

Budget Implementation Act, 2022, No. 1  I am asking the government to do some work, to start thinking about what it is like to be a regular Canadian who has to pay these bills, who has to feed their children and who has to buy food and clothes and shelter. I am just asking for some compassion, and I am hoping that the government will get to work.
