Health committee  Stewart, do you believe that, per the OIC—the government's direction—travelling across the border with a doctor's note to get a vaccine is medically necessary?

Health committee  Thank you. To either Dr. Stewart or Dr. Lucas, on what date will fully vaccinated travellers be exempt from quarantine upon entering Canada?

Health committee  Mr. Stewart, Major-General Fortin said that we don't have a line of sight on the AstraZeneca vaccine deliveries for the coming months. In France there has been a recommendation made for persons who have received the first shot of the AstraZeneca vaccine, but now aren't eligible for it given other risk concerns, to be given a dose of an mRNA vaccine or another vaccine.

Health committee  I can't even imagine the frustration you must feel. This week we've seen, for example, a lack of clarity of communication on vaccines. How can we fix that? To me, that's something that needs to happen in the very short term. I think there's this fallacy that somehow the public doesn't perceive all the different moving parts that the government does in relation to, let's say, vaccine advice.

Health  Mr. Speaker, no, the advice on vaccines from the federal government this week has not been clear. The confusing communications regarding vaccines the federal government has presided over cannot be allowed to continue, and the person who has the responsibility to make sure this happens is the Minister of Health.

Business of Supply  We do not even have vaccine equity at home and he is talking about it internationally, virtue signalling to get some sort of photo op. It is like rubbing salt in the wound. It is disgusting. Yes, of course, we need to be doing everything possible as a country to ensure there is vaccine equity around the world, but we also need to be getting it at home.

COVID-19 in Alberta  Speaker, I do not understand why the member opposite did not support a motion to provide support and benchmarks for a clear path out of the pandemic and out of lockdown, such as what vaccinated persons can do or deploying more rapid tests. This is what we need. I fully and deeply support ensuring that front-line workers have the resources they need to ensure that they can isolate.

Business of Supply  One owns a tattoo shop and one owns a hair studio. What they want the member to be focusing on is a plan to get vaccines into the community and to get the government to have benchmarks, so they can fully work and realize the potential of the community as well as ensure that their businesses survive.

Public Services and Procurement  Speaker, I offer congratulations to India for announcing that all its adults will be eligible for a vaccine as of May 1. While Canada's government has not domestically produced a single dose of COVID vaccine, India has been vaccinating its population with its own vaccines, produced within its borders, while also manufacturing vaccines for Canada.

Health  Therefore, I am wonder if he can tell Canadians who, like him, received the first dose of AstraZeneca two things: if they should be waiting for supply to get a second dose of AstraZeneca based on what Health Canada and NACI said; and whether AstraZeneca ever plans to deliver a dose of vaccine to Canada, but particularly whether they should be waiting to get their first dose of AstraZeneca, as his family physician advised.
