The National Assembly was wise enough to have a non-partisan debate on dying with dignity by inviting members from all political parties to be part of the travelling commission that examined the issue.

Health Mr. Speaker, my question is for the Minister of Health. The Quebec National Assembly has legalized doctor-assisted death as part of end-of-life care, in accordance with the express will of a terminally ill person. The Prime Minister even praised Quebec's legislation. Can the Minister of Health guarantee that the six-month extension the federal government is asking for will not adversely effect the coming into force of Quebec's legislation?
