Ethics  Mr. Speaker, the WE Charity scandal continues to deepen. More troubling details are being revealed daily. With their filibuster in the ethics committee last week, it would seem that the Liberals are hiding something embarrassing. Every minister should be asked about their connection to WE.

Government Business No. 8  Mr. Speaker, I appreciate a couple of the attitudes that the hon. member mentioned in her speech. Those are the need for creativity and the need to be positive. When it comes to the need for creativity, I wish there was more creativity in terms of making sure that Parliament could have sat over the last three months, so that we could have had fulsome and regular debates, including private members' business and whatnot over this past number of months as this country faced an unprecedented crisis.

Government Business No. 8  Madam Chair, your point is well taken and I do apologize that I get impassioned in debate. My point of order is about referencing the attendance of members within the House. It was brought up a number of times during the previous COVID committee—

Government Business No. 8  Madam Chair, I have heard much from my constituents about how disappointed they are that Parliament would be shut down. I cannot help but think that it is ironic whenever the leader of the fourth party in the House tweets that the government should be doing this, that or the other thing; maybe it would be able to, except the NDP voted to shut Parliament down.

Questions Passed as Orders for Returns  With regard to the Canada Revenue Agency: what is the number of audits performed on small businesses since 2015, broken down by year and by province or territory?

Opposition Motion—Pharmacare  Madam Speaker, my question is brief. Has the member spoken with pharmacists in his constituency about their feelings on the struggle that already exists for pharmacists to access the drugs that Canadians need?

Opposition Motion—Pharmacare  Madam Speaker, I appreciate the member's comments and the story she shared about her dad's cancer is a touching one. I know I have similar stories in my family. I would like to make a brief comment. She mentioned that pharmacare would result in free things for Canadians. The reality is that that is simply not the case.

Public Safety  Mr. Speaker, the Minister of Public Safety refuses to stop his plan to give needles to prison inmates. This is Liberal hypocrisy at its finest. The government is quick to punish law-abiding gun owners while at the same time literally giving convicted felons a weapon while they are in prison.

Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement Implementation Act  Mr. Speaker, my hon. colleague across the floor asked what Conservatives would have done differently. There are far too many things to list in a question, but certainly one of the things that should have been done was to treat our negotiating partners with respect. There are a number of examples, whether it was the Prime Minister in a press conference or the then foreign affairs minister attending an event, that seemed to draw the ire of the people they were sitting down at the negotiating table with.

Criminal Code  Madam Speaker, it seems that the bill goes far beyond the scope of the court decision. That is a big concern, but my question is about the consultation period. There was a tremendous amount of response. I had dozens of constituents who wished to get involved but, for one reason or another, were unable to participate in the consultation process.

Emergency Debate  Mr. Speaker, I believe I am of the same generation as the hon. member, being 29 years old when I was elected this past October. I am very pleased to be one of the young members of what is a very young caucus. We take very seriously the reality that is facing our children, and my two children.

Emergency Debate  Mr. Speaker, I know that the word “viability” has been used a lot and certainly there are jurisdictions around the world where there is significant viability in the energy industry. I wonder if the member for Regina—Lewvan would have questions as to why investment is happening in the energy industry around the world, but it cannot seem to happen here in Canada.

Emergency Debate  Madam Speaker, this is an incredibly serious issue. I have tens of thousands of energy workers in my constituency who looked at this as a bellwether for the province's future. The fact that this company saw that market conditions, created by the Liberal government, had destroyed its capacity to build a project is incredibly concerning.

Emergency Debate  Madam Speaker, I just learned that this can be the case in emergency debates. For those of who are new, this is something new. Alberta has demonstrated that it is a world leader in energy production, yet the member seems to want to relitigate the process that Teck aced. Is the member aware of all the ways that Alberta has led the world in making sure that we have ethical, environmentally friendly energy?
