Fair Elections Act  Mr. Speaker, I am pleased to ask my colleague a question on a very specific point he made in his speech. I am referring to the elimination of Election Canada's mandate to educate Canadians by raising awareness about their duty and right to vote. Anyone who follows question period even a little bit knows that the Parliamentary Secretary has two daughters who are still minors.

Fair Elections Act  Mr. Speaker, I would like to ask my colleague a supplementary question. Another measure in this bill increases donations that can be made to a registered political party from $1,200 to $1,500. Candidates will be able to contribute up to $5,000 to their own campaign, up from $2,200.

Fair Elections Act  Mr. Speaker, I would like to thank the hon. member for his speech. He elaborated on various measures included in the bill, but seems to have avoided a few of them. For that reason, I would like to ask a question about one of the measures, namely the fact that election spending will not include money raised when a third party is hired to fundraise from existing donors who have donated more than $20 over the previous five years.

Fair Elections Act  Mr. Speaker, I thank my colleague for his speech on Bill C-23. I would like to ask him a very specific question about a point that he did not have time to talk about. That will let him talk about it a little. The bill runs the risk of affecting voting in Canada, because it completely eliminates Elections Canada's educational mandate.

Fair Elections Act  Mr. Speaker, I am pleased to have this opportunity to ask my colleague a question. For most of her speech, the hon. member talked about problems she has encountered that she has not been able to resolve. I do not believe that the bill currently before the House will solve those problems.

Privilege  Mr. Speaker, this is the first time that I have risen on a question of privilege, and I am somewhat saddened to have to do so. I care deeply about official languages. I rise today in the House to follow up on a recent incident by raising a question of privilege that warrants an official response.

Petitions  Mr. Speaker, I am pleased to present a petition today on behalf of the people of Sherbrooke, even though not every single one of them has signed the petition. However, several dozen people did sign the petition regarding the airport in Sherbrooke, which is a very important issue.

Committees of the House  Mr. Speaker, I am pleased to ask a question of my colleague, who clearly explained the Conservatives' position. In his speech, he showed just how poorly the Conservative government treats Parliament's independent bodies. Just think of the former parliamentary budget officer, Mr.

Committees of the House  Mr. Speaker, I am pleased to have the opportunity to ask my colleague a question. In his presentation he explained how the Conservatives and the Liberals adopt half measures that in reality last only three days. They promise transparency, but it is just a media stunt. When I went to the Conservatives' and Liberals' websites to see their so-called transparency, I saw nothing more than half measures.

Gilbert Boulanger  Mr. Speaker, today, I want to pay tribute to Gilbert Boulanger, a Second World War veteran who just passed away at the age of 91. He was nicknamed “l'Alouette”, after his squadron. During the Second World War, he was a gunner because he did not know how to fly the plane. He participated in 37 bombing missions, including two on the day of the Normandy invasion.

Questions on the Order Paper  With regard to the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority Act (CATSA): (a) how many aerodromes have submitted a request to be added to the schedule of the CATSA Aerodrome Designation Regulations since 2002, broken down by year; (b) which aerodromes have submitted a request to be added to the schedule of the CATSA Aerodrome Designation Regulations since 2002, broken down by year; (c) what criteria must be met for an aerodrome to be added to the schedule of the CATSA Aerodrome Designation Regulations; and (d) since 2002, have there been any changes to the criteria for assessing a request to be added to the schedule of the CATSA Aerodrome Designation Regulations and, if so, (i) what criteria have been added, (ii) what criteria have been removed?

Situation in Ukraine  Mr. Chair, I would like to thank the hon. member for his excellent speech and for his knowledge of this part of Europe. How does he think Canada could help resolve this crisis that is gripping Ukraine right now? What diplomatic measures does he feel the current government should use to try and resolve this crisis in Ukraine?

Committees of the House  Mr. Speaker, I have the honour to present, in both official languages, the first report of the Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates in relation to its study of the supplementary estimates (B), 2013-14.

Air Transportation  Mr. Speaker, over a month ago, I asked the Minister of Transport to quickly review the security screening services required for flights out of the Sherbrooke airport. The minister responded that the City had to go through an eligibility process, which it had already done. All of Sherbrooke's stakeholders are waiting for the minister to take action.

Petitions  Mr. Speaker, this morning I have the honour to present a petition on behalf of hundreds of petitioners from Sherbrooke. This petition was initiated by Development and Peace. I met with representatives from the organization in Sherbrooke, in the Eastern Townships, where it is quite active.
