Pharmacare  Mr. Speaker, taking first nations kids to court is not respecting reconciliation. For 22 years, the Liberals have promised to introduce a universal pharmacare program, but there is still nothing in place. There are millions of Canadians who cannot afford the medications they desperately need and the Liberals are telling them to just wait.

Government Priorities  Mr. Speaker, last night the Liberals, Conservatives and the Bloc voted against making life better for Canadians. They voted against affordable housing. They voted against a real fight against the climate crisis. They voted against national universal pharmacare for all. These are all things that Canadians desperately need and want.

Ethics  Mr. Speaker, those are fine words, but as people saw yesterday, there is no action. The secret agreement with Volkswagen illustrates how the Liberals are prepared to hide their climate inaction. After six meetings with various government departments, including the Prime Minister's Office, Volkswagen got a special deal.

Indigenous Affairs  Mr. Speaker, that is not good enough. Indigenous kids and their families have sent a clear message: Stop taking us to court and stop discriminating against us. It is pretty simple. The thing is, the tribunal decision did not just say that the government discriminated against indigenous kids.

Indigenous Affairs  Mr. Speaker, yesterday, all parliamentarians agreed that the government needs to accept the tribunal's decision and stop the discrimination against indigenous children. That means that the government must follow the tribunal's orders, stop taking the children to court and ensure that the children and families do not have to testify in court.

Privilege  Mr. Speaker, I also want to add my voice in acknowledging the cordiality in the chamber today. As well, I want to acknowledge the solidarity in recognizing the difficulty and the challenges that public life presents. I want to thank the Leader of Her Majesty's official opposition for taking up that mantle, for being in public service not only as the Leader of the Opposition but also as Speaker and the representative of Regina—Qu'Appelle.

Pharmacare  Mr. Speaker, those fine words are not backed by action for Canadians. Yesterday, the Prime Minister promised to bring in a national and universal pharmacare program. However, the reality is the Liberals have been promising universal pharmacare since 1997. Canadians should not have to wait, and in fact they do not need to wait.

International Trade  Mr. Speaker, without actually protecting workers or the environment, the Liberals rushed to see the new NAFTA signed. American politicians did the work the Liberals should have done. Without seeking protections for the environment and our workers, the Liberals were prepared to sign away our future.

Health  Mr. Speaker, the Liberal tax plan does not help 47% of people, but if this measure is targeted to help those who need it most, we can also implement a national dental care program. This will help 4.3 million people. If the Prime Minister really wants to help people, is he committed to implementing a national dental care program?

Health  Mr. Speaker, there is a difference between saying the right things and doing the right things. Twenty per cent of Canadians cannot access dental services because they just cannot afford it. If we had a national dental care program right now, it would save families at least $1,200 a year.

Taxation  Mr. Speaker, the Liberal tax plan will not help 47% of Canadians, but we have a plan that will help them. By targeting the measure to help only those who need it most, we can free up $1.6 billion to fund a national dental care program. This would help 4.3 million Canadians and save our health care system millions of dollars.

Health  Mr. Speaker, fine words cannot hide the facts. In opposition, the Prime Minister condemned Stephen Harper's cuts to health care. Now he is making the same cuts to health care, and he has given $14 billion to the richest corporations. We are in a health care crisis right now.

Resumption of Debate on Address in Reply  Mr. Speaker, farmers can count on us. It was our party that said that agreements with other countries must protect supply management. That aspect is missing from the new NAFTA. We had pointed out three problems with that agreement. First of all, the measures to protect workers and the environment are not binding.

Resumption of Debate on Address in Reply  Mr. Speaker, my congratulations to the member on his election. Absolutely, we need to support families and working people across the country. The company that the member is speaking about produces some of the best steel in the world. However, ensuring that those jobs remain in Canada is a problem.

We now have an opportunity to work together to make progress on issues that will improve the lives of people, and that is our goal.
