Small Business  The CEBA program delivered more than $49 billion to nearly 900,000 small business owners. We are going to support small business owners as we all recover from the pandemic.

Business of Supply  My constituents are overwhelmingly hard-working farmers, forestry workers, tradesmen, seniors, small business owners and young families juggling the chaos of life. They pay their federal taxes, their provincial taxes and their municipal and education taxes. However, after eight years, they need a break from a government and a finance minister who believe big bureaucracy can spend us into prosperity using their hard tax dollars.

Health committee  Thank you. Many health practitioners, Minister, small business owners and consumers from across Canada have expressed serious concerns to this committee that the government's proposed labelling requirements and new fees for natural health products will result in increased costs, serious harm to the sector's financial viability and jobs, and reduced choice for Canadians.

Carbon Tax  Perhaps I can help the member for Saint Boniface—Saint Vital, because I have spoken to Manitobans. I have talked to seniors, families and small business owners who despise the carbon tax and want it axed. The minister had a chance to stand up for Manitobans and remove the carbon tax from our home heating; instead, his government is creating two classes of citizens: those who pay the carbon tax on home heating and those who do not.

Small Business  It was actually a lifeline for small business, having the CEBA program and the loans that were provided. Our government is taking action now in order to provide greater flexibility to small business owners who are finding it difficult to repay those loans. I appreciate the member opposite raising some concerns with the flexibilities we have put in place. The Canada emergency business account, which was created as part of our overall response to the pandemic, has helped maintain economic stability and keep small businesses afloat, while keeping workers in the workforce.

Taxation  It is time for the Liberal government to step in and provide resources to support those small business owners, who really are the economic drivers of our small communities.

Small Business  Mr. Speaker, as a former small business owner myself, I know that small businesses are the backbone of these communities. As a small business owner, I am glad the Conservatives are not in charge. Small businesses would not be saving $1 billion in credit card transaction fees.

Small Business  Mr. Speaker, small business owners are the unsung heroes of the Canadian economy. These entrepreneurs make up almost 98% of all employer businesses, employing nearly two-thirds of the private labour force, and they provide meaningful paycheques to millions of Canadians.

Human Resources committee  Both my board of directors and I were very pleased with your proactiveness on our file. It meant a lot to have our voice heard. As a former small business owner, we know, MP Gray, that you understand how important this type of funding is to the success of our organization.

Small Business Week  As the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Small Business, I am excited to roll up my sleeves and get to work with entrepreneurs and small business owners across the country.

Small Business Week  Four generations later, I had the pleasure of operating that same business, which has since evolved into a ship chandler wholesaler. I know first-hand the daily struggles and complexities that our small business owners face, and our government is focused on enabling them to thrive, because when our small businesses thrive, our communities thrive. It is all about building communities. This week, let us celebrate small businesses across this country and the communities they continue to strengthen.

Small Business  Mr. Speaker, we understand the struggles that many small business owners had during the pandemic and that many continue to face. That is why we have offered additional flexibilities for small businesses to repay their CEBA loans. They include a full one-year extension on the term loan repayment deadline, more flexibility on refinancing and more time to access loan forgiveness, which is both a balanced and fiscally responsible approach.

Small Business  It offers a unique indigenous experience and a marketplace for local indigenous entrepreneurs. Our government is going to continue to support entrepreneurs and small business owners so they can reach their potential and develop new possibilities for Canadians. I thank all small businesses across Canada for their commitment and for their dedication and hard work.

Small Business  Could the Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario tell the House how we are supporting our hard-working small business owners and entrepreneurs across Canada?

Information & Ethics committee  It's where indigenous creators are telling their own stories in their own voices. It's where small business owners are finding new customers, not just across Canada but around the world. For example, just last week I was able to listen to Jenn Harper. She's the CEO of Cheekbone Beauty, which is an indigenous-owned B corp-certified beauty brand.
