The Budget  Madam Speaker, this may come as a surprise to the member, but the United States has 10 times the population of Canada, and I believe the figures that have come out of the United States recently have shown that on a per capita basis—because that is how we measure things when there is not an equal amount, we have something called a common denominator—Canada's cases are actually outpacing the United States, and that is because the member's party failed to deliver vaccines to Canada in January and February, unlike the United States. I will take this opportunity to thank President Biden for announcing that he plans to give Canadians some vaccines, where the member's Prime Minister failed to do so.

The Budget  As responsible legislators, I think we made a good point on that, but we do understand and agree that the federal government has left most provincial governments in a deeply untenable situation and needs to do more to secure vaccines.

The Budget  Yes, we need to do more, but we also need a path forward through vaccines, rapid tests and therapeutics.

Health committee  As well, with regard to the dosing interval, are there any studies in Canada right now on waning or potential waning immunity at different data points over a four-month dosing interval for all the vaccines that have been approved for use in Canada?

Health committee  In closing, my understanding is that there isn't any data that you or anybody could point this committee to on immunity levels after one dose at a four-month interval for, let's say, the Pfizer vaccine. If there is, I'd love to know what that is.

Health committee  Ruel, your letter talked about the delayed dosing interval paradoxically increasing the risk of vaccine-resistant variants, I believe. I was hoping you could expand upon your concern and perhaps give a recommendation to the committee.

Public Services and Procurement  Why did the federal Liberals engage in a doomed vaccine production deal with the Government of China as opposed to securing one with our allies in India, the largest democracy in the world?

Health committee  You said, “by September”. Is that fully vaccinated?

Health committee  Will they be fully vaccinated?

Health committee  Would you be looking to use VaccineConnect as a national system for proof of COVID vaccination for Canadians travelling abroad?

Health committee  Barlow's question, is the known traveller digital identity project in budget 2021 not being considered for use as a system for providing proof of COVID vaccination for Canadians travelling abroad?

Health committee  Thank you. Dr. Lucas, the Prime Minister recently said that certificates of COVID vaccinations will be a reality for international travel. How we coordinate that and roll it out in alignment with partners and allies around the world is something that we are looking right now.

Health committee  Also, is there a system being built right now to provide Canadians travelling abroad with proof of COVID vaccination for participation in a project like this?

Health committee  Are there funds allocated anywhere for a national system for proof of COVID vaccination for international travel?

Health committee  Thank you. Dr. Tam, do you agree with the statement that one dose of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine still leaves patients vulnerable to variants?
