Committees of the House  Mr. Speaker, I thank my colleague from Saint-Hyacinthe—Bagot for his very positive and important speech. We know that the needs are great in the aerospace industry. Very often, airlines do not manage to serve the markets all the time. I want to underscore the importance of supporting all our airports.

National Volunteer Week  Mr. Speaker, what is more noble than giving freely? What is more noble than a person with means being kind enough to use that strength to lift up their entire community? That is what more than two million Quebeckers do every day when they volunteer. On behalf of the Bloc Québécois, I want to use this 49th National Volunteer Week to thank them.

Criminal Code  Madam Speaker, I thank the member for Selkirk—Interlake—Eastman for his speech. My colleague from Lac-Saint-Jean said earlier that this bill is long overdue. We know full well that this has been going on for 18 months. What is the government waiting for? When will it help the men, women, and children who are being mercilessly killed in Afghanistan?

Committees of the House  Madam Speaker, I wanted to say that I myself have been a single mother with three children. I have had to work two jobs. I would also like to talk about the cause of poverty, support for families, and funding to help them and single mothers. From my colleague's point of view, what should the government prioritize in terms of support?

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, before I ask my question, I would like to extend my condolences to the people of Amqui and to the family of the police officers who were killed in Edmonton. You talked about the integrity of elections. We know that there was a foreign interference campaign. The Prime Minister did nothing.

Federal Framework on Housing for Individuals with Non-visible Disabilities  Madam Speaker, the Bloc Québécois supports Motion No. 59 regarding a federal framework on housing for individuals with non-visible disabilities. This motion does not encroach on Quebec's areas of jurisdiction. Under the Canada-Quebec housing agreement, Ottawa gives Quebec the leeway to determine its housing priorities.

Pandemic Day Act  Madam Speaker, I am pleased to rise today to debate Bill S-209, an act respecting pandemic observance day, although it would have been better if we had never gone through this dark period in our history and never needed to commemorate it. I want to begin by acknowledging International Women's Day.

Hooked on School Days  Mr. Speaker, February 13 to 17, 2023, is Hooked on School Days. The campaign honours all those who support our young people. As the Hooked on School Days website explains, we recognize their crucial role in fostering students' motivation, resilience and self-confidence, and we salute their commitment to making student retention a priority.

Criminal Code  Mr. Speaker, I listened to my colleague. I do not agree with her principles at all. She said that it was an easy choice. Medical assistance in dying is not an easy choice. On the contrary, it is a question of dignity. For the past five years, the Bloc Québécois has been participating in consultations on medical assistance in dying.

Committees of the House  Madam Speaker, I thank my colleague for his speech. However, we have questions about McKinsey. We know full well that we are talking about deliverables and contracts, even if my colleague says the contrary. Are they verifiable and quantifiable? This firm has a history of non-verifiable and non-quantifiable deliverables, which enables it to do whatever it wants without any accountability to parliamentarians and journalists.

Bill Namagoose  Mr. Speaker, a remarkable man from my riding is one of the 49 people who were invested into the Order of Canada on December 13. Bill Namagoose, who served as the executive director of the Cree Nation Government for 35 years, was invested into the Order of Canada for his significant contributions to the Cree Nation of Eeyou Istchee and to the advancement of indigenous rights across the country.

Canada Early Learning and Child Care Act  Mr. Speaker, we know that the subject matter of Bill C-35, child care and early learning, is very important, whether in Quebec or across Canada. We also know that this bill includes some key elements such as the benefits of early learning and child care on children's development, as well as the role of the provinces.

Canada Early Learning and Child Care Act  Mr. Speaker, I congratulate my colleague on the birth of his baby girl on January 18, a little Capricorn who will be quite a character, I am sure. Anyone thinking about child care will look to Quebec's example. Its system has been in place for 25 years. Early learning is essential, and that goes for all children, whether they are Quebeckers or Canadians.

Canada Early Learning and Child Care Act  Madam Speaker, this will indeed help women return to the workforce, and it will help families support them. We know that child care is very expensive. This service will be a huge help to families, and it will also support early childhood education.

Canada Early Learning and Child Care Act  Madam Speaker, all we have to do is look at child care in Quebec. That model gives women access to better benefits and enables them to stay home. That also means better outcomes for children, so I do not agree with my colleague's point of view. I actually agree with the government's point of view because it looked at how things are done in Quebec, which sets the bar.
