Economic Action Plan 2013 Act, No. 1  Either this is urgent or the government needs therapy. If this is urgent, is it because there is a zombie invasion? Is it the end of the world? Is that why we need to hurry and cannot take time for debate? If the government needs therapy, honestly, I would be happy to give out hugs.

Economic Action Plan 2013 Act, No. 1  Mr. Speaker, I thought we put the issue of zombies to bed. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, in answering a question one day, actually did put that fear to bed, so I am glad that is not going to happen. There are a number of items that I would suggest are very urgent.

Foreign Affairs  I want to say categorically to this member, and through him to all Canadians, that under the leadership of this Prime Minister, Canada will never become a safe haven for zombies, ever.

Points of Order  Speaker, in reference to a question I received from the member for Winnipeg Centre, we should take this issue very seriously. If there is a zombie attack, Canadians need to be well prepared. They should stock up on first aid kits, monster trucks, canned food and water, and I am not going to stand in this place and not warn Canadians that if the NDP had its way, Canadians would have to pay a carbon tax on each and every one of those—

National Defence committee  I was on so many medications that I couldn't keep track of what I was taking. My mind was cloudy, foggy. I was a zombie. The joint personnel support unit that I'm with in Shilo has been incredibly supportive. In fact, they had mentioned to me about Mr. Leonard and the program, and that is how I got in contact with them.

Ethics  We have failed Tories at the Employment Insurance Board, the Parole Board, the Human Rights Tribunal, the port authorities and, of course, the cash-for-life senator. My God, it is like watching a proliferation of zombies in a Tory horror movie. Why are they using the same tired old pork-barrel, rum-bottle politics that Canadians rejected when they threw out the Liberals?

International Trade committee  Japanese business is in the midst of a transformation from the traditional keiretsu-based model, which exports finished goods, seeks global market share, and tolerates underperformers—which we now call zombie firms—to one that allows and sees much greater diversification in models with highly focused firms and major positions in Asian supply chains. As much as 20% of Japanese manufacturing is now located abroad.

Justice committee  They were fully safe, but it was hard for them to believe that, given what they were able to see on the video screens in the security office. It was described as out of control zombies attacking the store. That was the description our people used. They used words like “terrified” and “traumatized”. Obviously, we have an excellent employee assistance program and we've been able to provide support for those folks.

Protecting Children from Online Sexual Exploitation Act  One of the problems that Cybertip mentioned is that a website can change location in a few minutes by using a network of personal computers that are known as zombies. In other words, they keep moving around to computers that are vacant, or zombies. However, what is clear is that the Internet service providers, the companies, know that these zombies exist.

Protecting Children from Online Sexual Exploitation Act  A website can also change location in just a few minutes by utilizing a network of personal computers as zombies. These zombies relay the content of the website hosted on another server. Cybertip.ca recommended that when zombies are detected, ISPs running the networks to which these computers are connected should be able to suspend service for those computers until the infected computers are restored.

Fighting Internet and Wireless Spam Act  That is where people write programs and send out messages that would infect somebody else's computer so that people's computers become like zombies and send out a series of files, information and messages. That happened to one of my accounts. It was hijacked and messages were sent out under my email address. A lot of people have faced this.

Fighting Internet and Wireless Spam Act  The cost of the overhead of electronic spamming include bandwidth developing or acquiring an email, wiki or a blog spam tool and taking over or acquiring a host or a zombie. The transaction cost is the incremental cost of contacting each additional recipient once a method of spamming is constructed multiplied by the number of recipients, the risks, the chance and severity of legal and/or public reactions, including damages and punitive damages.

Electronic Commerce Protection Act  This comes from the trolling of information that has been enabled under these massive networks of zombie computers. They can track and pick out names from the email traffic. They are picking out bits of stories and they are able to tailor the stories of personal need and personal threat.

Fighting Internet and Wireless Spam Act  Some of the overhead costs of electronic spam include bandwidth and developing and acquiring spam tools or taking over and acquiring a host or zombie. The transaction costs for each additional recipient once a method of spamming is constructed can be immense. Could my hon. colleague elaborate on the critical importance of the Internet to Canadians and why this piece of legislation is important?

Fighting Internet and Wireless Spam Act  Spam is also used in an organized way that affects the whole Internet capacity of the system. We just have to look at some of the botnets. This is like a zombie computer where specific programs are written to go in and turn our computers into a generator for spam, or our email address for someone else who controls a whole grid of computers. I hope to see the bill passed and I hope to not see it watered down in our unelected Senate.
