Environment committee  Now that Canada's emissions have gone up again, will you launch an audit and compel the government to hand over the entire carbon tax emissions model?

Carbon Pricing  A litre bottle of ketchup is over $13. The people of Nunavut are going hungry, while the minister hikes his carbon tax. Why will he not simply axe the tax?

Carbon Pricing  If the Prime Minister will not listen to us, why will he not at least listen to Food Banks Canada's CEO or maybe the millions of Canadians who are demanding that he lower the price of food by axing his extreme carbon tax.

Carbon Pricing  Speaker, the NDP-Liberal government has made life even more unaffordable for Canadians by raising the wacko carbon tax by 23%. Gas, groceries and everything else is more and more—

Carbon Pricing  That is something the government has to address and has to consider in its response to the carbon tax and why it should be repealed.

Liberal Party of Canada  Since they took office, Canadians are seeing record numbers of food bank usage, with nearly 60% of Canadians eating foods that have expired or spoiled. The Prime Minister, backed by his NDP coalition, has decided to increase the carbon tax by 23%. This is disgusting. Unlike the Prime Minister, most Canadians do not have a trust fund, so this increase has not only driven more people to food banks, but also has hampered donations.

Transport committee  The low exchange rate value of the Canadian dollar also matters, because most aircraft and parts are imported. Oil prices are currently low, but fuel prices will rise with carbon taxes and the adoption of sustainable aviation fuels. Finally, the losses incurred during the pandemic are unlikely to be extinguished already. The impact of ticket prices on demand for air travel in Canada is also affected by fees and charges that are outside the domain of the airlines.

Agriculture committee  However, what was frustrating for this ranch owner—we were riding horses throughout his property—is that his feed bill for his animals went up $1,000 in one delivery, and that $1,000 was completely as a result of the carbon tax on trucking. We'd like to highlight the fact that this carbon tax is having a detrimental impact on people in Canadian agriculture and their ability to stay in business. This is a family rancher.

Science and Research committee  It's very concerning to see the permafrost melting or warming and the impacts that has. It reconfirms our belief that the main environmental program of this government is the carbon tax, which we know doesn't lower emissions, based on the last nine years of measurements. How this ties to the territories is that, like the carve-out in Atlantic Canada that was unfair for the rest of Canadians who were using home heating oil, there's a carve-out in the Arctic.

Science and Research committee  If you're concerned about lowering emissions, aren't you concerned that the carbon tax hasn't lowered emissions in Canada? In nine years, your permafrost is still, unfortunately, warmer and disappearing.

Science and Research committee  I'm not interested in getting into an argument about the federal government's policies and what they are. I think there is very strong evidence internationally that carbon taxes are generally an effective way to lower emissions.

Tom Henheffer

Science and Research committee  The proof is in our ranking around the world and in the fact that our emissions have gone up since they introduced the carbon tax. The only year that they went down was the year that we all were locked down and didn't move. The concern on the political side of things is that the policies that impact the north are having a negative impact.

Public Safety committee  Chair, I would like to quickly move to a motion that I gave notice of last committee”, and went on to move that motion on carbon tax. To pretend that this is a matter of importance because they don't want to discuss a bill that they claim to support—that Mr. Genuis, I'm sure, has gotten up in the House to support—is shocking.

Public Safety committee  You brought the motion. It was a carbon tax motion.

Public Safety committee  I was wondering if he could also interject into his remarks, if this is truly the issue he claims it is and a matter of top priority for the Conservative Party, why, when Anne Kelly was here, they brought a motion on the carbon tax. She was here just a couple of months ago. Why the hypocrisy? Why is he using this opportunity to filibuster a bill they claim to support? I'm just curious. It's my community.
