Taxation  Speaker, on the carbon tax cover-up, a barista earning $35,000 a year does not earn enough to get anything from the so-called middle-class tax plan, but does earn enough to pay a new Liberal carbon tax on gas, groceries, and electricity. To get some of that money back, she would need to buy a $150,000 electric car in Ontario. Will the government end the carbon tax cover-up and release its calculation on the cost of this new tax to the middle class and those working to join it?

The Economy  Our government will not impose a job-killing carbon tax that would increase the price of gas, groceries and electricity—a tax on all Canadians. Our government knows that higher taxes stunt job creation and economic growth, which is the very opposite of what Canadians want and need. Let us hear if the opposition has anything meaningful to say on the economy.

New Democratic Party of Canada  This massive new NDP tax plan would increase the price of everything, including gas, groceries and electricity, while disproportionately targeting the poor, seniors and rural Canadians. It is shameful. If this massive new carbon tax were not enough, the NDP also proposes to bring in an additional $56 billion in wasteful new spending.

The New Democratic Party of Canada  Hard-working Canadians cannot afford a $20-billion job-killing carbon tax that would raise the price of everything, including gas, groceries and electricity. Canadians cannot afford the risky tax-and-spend socialist policies of the NDP.

The Economy  Is it his plan to impose a $20 billion job-killing carbon tax that would raise the price of everything, including gas, groceries and electricity? Is it his plan to impose $56 billion in shameful reckless spending? Is it his plan to block the tens of thousands of jobs on both sides of the border by lobbying against the Keystone pipeline?

New Democratic Party of Canada  The leader of the NDP is planning to generate $20 billion through a shameful and sneaky carbon tax that would increase the price of everything, including gas, groceries and electricity. Respected economist Jack Mintz calculated that the NDP carbon tax would raise gas prices by as much as 10¢ a litre. The socialist polices of the NDP are those that Canadians cannot afford to have.

New Democratic Party of Canada  Canadians cannot afford a $20 billion job-killing carbon tax that would raise the price of everything, including gas, groceries and electricity. Canadians cannot afford $56 billion in wasteful spending. Canadians cannot afford the risky policies of the NDP. On this side of the House, we will continue to fight for Canadians and against the NDP's $20 billion carbon tax and $56 billion wasteful spending schemes.

Carbon Tax  The NDP leader's job-killing carbon tax would raise the price of everything, including gas, groceries and electricity. Our government will stand up against the NDP leader's job-killing carbon tax and against his party's now hidden socialist spending promises.

Canadians cannot afford to have the risky policies the NDP propose. I can proudly say that we will continue to fight for Canadians and oppose this $20 billion job-killing carbon tax.

The Economy  That is where the Leader of the Opposition's $20 billion carbon tax comes in. The new tax on everything would raise the price of everything, including gas, groceries and electricity. Canadians know that our Conservative record on the economy is one that protects their interests and is helping the Canadian economy grow. We will vigorously oppose the Leader of the Opposition's plan to impose a job-killing $20 billion carbon tax on Canadians.

Leader of the New Democratic Party of Canada  Of course, the NDP leader is also counting on $20 billion in new revenue from his job-killing carbon tax, which would increase the cost of gas, groceries and electricity for everyday Canadians and businesses alike. The NDP's plan to kill hundreds of thousands of jobs and raise the cost of basic household goods are two clear reminders that Canadians cannot afford the risky economic theories of the NDP.

Taxes  That party wants to impose a $20 billion job-killing carbon tax that would raise the price of everything families pay for, including gas, groceries and electricity. The NDP's plan to raise taxes is a bad plan. It is bad for Canadians, bad for families and bad for the economy

New Democratic Party of Canada  Perhaps it is through their $20 billion carbon tax that would raise the price on everything, including gas, groceries and electricity. Canadians do not want risky spending and more higher taxes. We will continue with our low-tax plan for jobs and growth. We will not support a new spending program that would justify the Leader of the Opposition imposing a $20 billion carbon tax on hard-working Canadians.

Leader of the New Democratic Party of Canada  Yesterday it tried to claim that it was standing up for Canadian taxpayers, but the NDP has a plan to impose a new $20-billion carbon tax on everything. The NDP leader's new job-killing carbon tax will raise the price of gas, groceries and electricity. This new NDP leader's job-killing carbon tax will kill jobs and stall the economy. Our government will stand up against the NDP leader's job-killing tax, and we will continue to lower taxes for all Canadians.

New Democratic Party of Canada  In fact, the NDP leader's $20 billion job-killing carbon tax would raise the price of everything including gas, groceries and electricity. The NDP's 2011 election platform planned to raise over $20 billion from its carbon tax scheme. The NDP leader said that this “will produce billions”. While the NDP leader is working on a plan to raise billions of dollars of revenue from Canadians with his job-killing carbon tax, our government will remain focused on what matters to Canadians: jobs, growth and long-term prosperity.
