News Media Industry  Mr. Speaker, I thank the member from Lac-Saint-Louis for his question and for his hard work. Facebook's tactics failed in Australia, and they will fail in Canada. The saddest part is seeing the Conservative members continue to rally around the web giants, regurgitate their arguments and rush to help American billionaires attack local news.

Tourism Industry  Mr. Speaker, I thank the member for all the work he does for his riding, Lac-Saint-Louis. Our measures for travellers change as the pandemic and public health recommendations change. That is why, starting on February 28, we will lift the ban on flights to all airports that usually receive international flights.

The Environment  Perhaps the members opposite should spend less time questioning the science and instead go talk to people in Lac-Saint-Jean, who are seeing more and more forest fires, people in Montérégie and Outaouais, who have experienced two historic floods in the past few years, or any other Canadian who knows that climate change is real because they feel its effects every day.

Official Languages  Speaker, as a proud Quebecker, I look forward to celebrating the national holiday tomorrow. I would like to wish a happy Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day to all francophones across the country who are celebrating tomorrow, especially since we all have high hopes for our Montreal Canadiens tomorrow night at the Bell Centre.

Public Safety  Mr. Speaker, I thank the member for Lac-Saint-Louis for his question, his leadership and his hard work in our caucus. Our borders have been closed to foreign travellers since March. We implemented a mandatory two-week quarantine for everyone entering Canada, and incoming air travellers must have a negative test before boarding the plane.

Public Services and Procurement  In addition to the strategy, we have announced our intention of awarding Davie a contract to build two new east coast ferries. We will keep supporting workers across the country, including workers in Saguenay—Lac-Saint-Jean.

Ethics  Mr. Speaker, the Liberals went to Lac-Saint-Jean to talk to the locals about what was happening there, what they need, what we could do to help them and where we could do more. The people of Lac-Saint-Jean told us that things were going well.

International Trade  Speaker, I thank the member from the Soo for his hard work as steel caucus co-chair. Earlier this month, I stood with Liberal members and workers in Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, Hamilton, Sault Ste. Marie, and Saskatoon to defend this vital industry from unfair steel and aluminum tariffs. We announced measures to further strengthen our enforcement regime against unfairly cheap foreign steel.

Canadian Heritage  Speaker, over the past few months, I have had the pleasure of travelling all over Quebec, including Lac-Saint-Jean, where I talked to Quebeckers about their priorities. I can say that not one Quebecker asked me to raise their taxes. Even though the Conservatives and the NDP want to raise taxes on consumers, we are not going to raise taxes on consumers.

Ethics  Mr. Speaker, what we have learned from talking to Canadians, whether it be in Lac-Saint-Jean, South Surrey—White Rock, or anywhere else in the country, is that they recognize that our economic growth record, the impact of the Canada child benefit, the tax cut for the middle class, and the tax hike for the wealthy are helping our communities, helping families, and helping individuals.

Ethics  Speaker, over the past weeks I have been criss-crossing the country and talking with voters in Alberta and Lac-Saint-Jean about the issues they are facing. The people who were talking with me were grateful for the Canada child benefit that helps nine out of 10 Canadian families, grateful that the first thing we did was lower taxes on the middle class and raise them on the wealthiest 1%, and pleased that we are now lowering small business taxes to the lowest rate in the G7.

Ethics  Mr. Speaker, I was happy to talk with people in Lac-Saint-Jean about Bombardier, about the work we are doing to protect aerospace workers, about the work we are doing to protect forestry workers, about what we are delivering for agricultural communities and families, and about what we are delivering directly to Canadians and the nine out of 10 families who need help with the Canada child benefit.

Taxation  Mr. Speaker, as we saw last night in Lac-Saint-Jean, Canadians are not buying what the Conservatives are selling. The Conservatives brought in tax credits that did not help families. What we introduced is a Canada child benefit that is giving more money to nine out of ten families and will lift over 300,000 children across Canada out of poverty.

Telecommunications  I was in Roberval to announce $13 million for high-speed Internet for every region in Saguenay—Lac-Saint-Jean and the Mauricie. These are necessary investments for improving the lives of Canadians and giving them more opportunities.

Infrastructure  Mr. Speaker, I thank the member for Saint-Jean for the work he does for his constituents. Many tonnes of commercial goods travel on our highways every day. We are investing $82 million to extend Highway 35, and we continue to build strong, competitive communities.
