Justice committee  My name is Savannah. I'm the director of advocacy and legal issues at the Canadian Association of Elizabeth Fry Societies, CAEFS. I want to thank you first of all for accommodating our last-minute switch. Our president, Diana Majury, sends her regrets that she could not attend.

Justice committee  I don't necessarily take a position on supporting or not supporting the legalization. My main concern is with educating youth and educating communities on the potential impacts of impaired driving under the influence of marijuana.

Justice committee  I can't really speculate on that. I've read statistics cited by the ministers who have stated that it could lead to an increase. I think that education is the best method to combat that impact.

Justice committee  Not necessarily, but even at roadblocks the way a racialized minority is treated may differ from the way a majority member is treated. Actually, what it might do is serve to just diminish the appearance of discrimination, but not actually the discrimination, so that's a concern.

Justice committee  I'm very happy to hear that, yes, and I hope those resources are being diverted away from the prisons.

Justice committee  I want to say yes. It's always important to have sensitivity training. The actual impact, in reality, of that sensitivity training though.... We've yet to really see results from that, so there's the policy and the law, and then the practice. In certain situations where you have
