But, you know, sitting through this hearing here shows us we're doing more testing, we're doing more surveillance, so there are going to be more cases that consumers will hear about. That's simply because the system is working. Is it a food safety issue? No, not necessarily.

Subcommittee on Food Safety committee  I'll tell you what went on in our firm with hogs. I referred to the Canadian quality assurance program. What happened was the provincial association went throughout Manitoba to the towns of Manitoba. The producers went to meetings and were provided with the manuals. It was a day-long meeting on how the certification process would take place.
