Status of Women committee  I would just offer the comment that it's a bit of a signal to the applicant for an order that they have to do so in a timely manner. The court has to deal with the situation that's in front of them and you can't send a notice to the band council six months or a year after the events that you're trying to deal with in the application.

Status of Women committee  Yes, I think you're reading that right. All of the section covered by clause 8 has to be read together, so it's 25% of the eligible voters, and then you look back to subclause 8(2) in terms of age requirements. It is possible to have one vote, and if it's defeated the first nation could also, at a later time, propose a slightly different MRP law and move to another vote as well.
