Finance committee  Certainly a carbon price would be something that would definitely push renewable energy forward throughout Canada. One of the issues, though, in Canada, particularly around electricity, is that in Quebec, for example, or Manitoba or British Columbia, the electricity basis is hydro-based by and large, so a carbon price wouldn't necessarily support development in those provinces.
