Official Languages committee  The government of the late 1980s provided some political direction, and the legislature acceded to that. I think that is a matter that would fall within the elected officials' realm of activity in terms of determining a direction for the territory. Certainly at that time, in the late 1980s, there was recognition of not only the francophone community in the Yukon but a significant first nations population.
