Human Resources committee  The public education thing is a massive one. Most professionals mean well. I don't think many of them are bitter or whatever. They mean well. But whether it's professionals, potential employees, or the general public, I feel there are two things here. One is public education to change the perception of what disability means, what we need, and what can we do.

Human Resources committee  What we have learned is that educational and professional decisions can be dictated by the disability. There is a lack of information that affects professionals, both at school and among those that people with a disability know. There is also inconsistency and a lack of information concerning what is accessible.

Human Resources committee  I'm here on behalf of Independent Living - Montreal, and we're here as employees with disabilities. I am the program coordinator, and we thought we would share very briefly our stories that we thought would be helpful, what we've learned, and our suggestions. For me, there were three things that hindered my success.
