My mother suggested having specific correctional facilities to accommodate those with mental health illness, because in that way they would be getting the resources they need. They would be with other people who are going through the same thing, and that way we could train correctional officers in dealing with stuff like that.

He's able to help these individuals back onto the right path because we're very spiritual people. We follow our culture and our traditions very closely. His grandfather is a ceremony maker in our community, so we participate in that a lot.
