Indigenous and Northern Affairs committee  Okay. Even before treaties are made with the Métis, they are standing in the way of first nations treaty fulfilment. This is evidenced by the action brought against Canada in 2021 by the Treaty Land Entitlement Committee on behalf of the treaty land entitlement first nations regarding the significant delays caused by Canada's decision to consult with the Métis before adding land to first nations reserves.

In my presentation today, I will discuss the impact of Bill C-53 on first nations' individual and collective rights.
