Subcommittee on International Human Rights committee  Thank you so much. As we talk about these various types of disabilities, I'd just draw attention to the complexity of what it means to work in classrooms with about 100 children, sometimes with different and overlapping disabilities. I just want to draw attention to the importance of really investing in teacher capacity building on an ongoing and continued basis, to make sure that teachers are getting the support they need to do this effectively.

Subcommittee on International Human Rights committee  The benefits definitely are multi-faceted, both for the children who are being included and for their peers, and we have a lot of evidence globally to support that. In terms of their peers, we see a lot of social emotional growth, increased empathy and also ability to work with and engage with people with different types of disabilities.
