Do you have any confidence that this new version, whatever comes out, will go before the Parliament of Afghanistan before it becomes law?

May 7th, 2009 / 12:45 p.m.

President, Rights and Democracy

Rémy M. Beauregard

We have the commitment of the President and of the Minister of Justice that the version of the law will meet these commitments, that the process will be open and transparent, that it's not going to be a one-time sort of affair. There will have to be many meetings and exchanges of views. These exchanges have taken place, and the Minister of Justice has met several times with civil society organizations, so that's what we are working on.
