I'd like to talk to you a little more about Bill C-5.

Parliament granted these exceptional powers with a five-year sunset. Your government now proposes to remove that safeguard.

Minister, why not demonstrate some results first and then ask both Houses to approve a further five-year extension before the power expires? Why do it now, with so little to show for it?
