When you want to compare the main estimates, tabled a couple of weeks ago, of $1.074 billion, with the main estimates of 10 years ago or 20 years ago, you have to factor in the value of inflation. Essentially, the purchasing power of the federal grant to the CBC since the 1990s has gone down something in the range of 50%.
