I would also like to hear your comments on this subject, Mr. Alfour. You talked about risks in your presentation. However, I believe there is another risk that you did not mention. You said that Canada should stop research aimed at developing artificial superintelligence. However, if Canada slows down, isn’t there a danger that other countries will take the lead and we will ultimately fall behind and suffer the consequences? I imagine that’s the problem: If one country does it and another doesn’t, it triggers a mad rush for all countries.
How can we respond to this challenge? I think that pulling Canada out of the race will put us in a precarious position. Is there a way to get everyone to agree and really move in the right direction with regard to artificial intelligence, and artificial superintelligence in particular?
