What would institutional reforms need to look like that would insulate our AI oversight as a country from political cycles, inconsistency or, let's just say, knowledge deficits at the political level?
For example, a minister responsible for artificial intelligence is a new thing, so what is the mandate of that minister? What's that ministry responsible for?
That's going to evolve, change, cycle in and, potentially, cycle out with changes in the ministry and in the federal cabinet. How do we insulate against the cyclical nature of the political element so that we have consistency and stable regs?
