Pharma companies also want to capture as much profit as they can, and they still have to prove that their products are safe and effective before they go to market. The same thing should be true of AI. Specify what your AI product is supposed to do; explain how it does that safely and reliably to an external authority; get it approved, and put it on the market. I think that will lead to much better AI products and much better adoption, and it will change the direction from all-purpose systems that are meant to replace people to useful tools that are meant to help them.
