I heard Mr. Milligan's argument regarding the size of the debt in response to one of the questions before. I'll give a bit of a history lesson. Back in 1968, we hardly had any debt at all and the Trudeau government of the day ran 14 deficits in 15 years and interest rates went through the roof. The Mulroney years had even bigger deficits, almost entirely interest on Trudeau's debt.
