Just to put it to members, when we sign these tax treaties and when there's a discrepancy between the Income Tax Act and a tax treaty, the tax treaty gets precedence. If we don't study these things, it could potentially contravene Canadian law in such a way that affects us. I think as parliamentarians, we should not tolerate a quick and dirty process, just because the government sees a couple of holes.
I've already made suggestions of what we could study. That's something that I think all of us would agree had a large amount of support in the House.
