I absolutely agree that the changes to the Pest Control Products Act, which is health and environmental protection legislation, would be best placed in stand-alone legislation that could be adequately studied and understood before the health committee and the environment committee.
Certainly, we know that the amendments to the Pest Control Products Act in Bill C-30 also came through omnibus budget legislation. That did not allow for adequate scrutiny. The changes in Bill C-31 and Bill C-30 would be the largest overhaul of our Pest Control Products Act since it was updated and modernized in 2022.
