Thank you, Chair.
Thanks to both of you for being with us again today.
I'd like to start with a question sparked by your line about Canada continuing to call upon Russia to de-escalate the situation in Ukraine. Of course, we see that Canada is part of the NATO effort to discourage any further encroachment on the Baltic or Polish territories by Mr. Putin. Aside from ministerial contact, I'd be interested to know, at the deputy minister and ambassadorial level, what the interaction has been over the past several years since sanctions were brought in against Russia. As you know, there may well be some new advice to the government from this committee with regard to sanctions, but that's a story for another day.
I'm wondering if you would just talk about the day-to-day interaction, the non-ministerial interaction, between Canada and Russia in trying to discourage Mr. Putin's continuing territorial adventurism and aggression.
