I can just tell you that it's as easy as pie. People need to sit down and talk to each other. However, it's so easy that it doesn't happen that way. I've been fighting for seven years to ensure that you and others are at the table. The same goes for the Canada Post matters.
By the way, Mr. Chair, I would like to digress for a moment. What will happen with Canada Post? We've heard that the president and CEO is retiring. Yesterday, union members were on the Hill. Cuts and attrition have already taken place. We haven't heard anything. Honestly, 17 million households and 55,000 workers are wondering what will happen. September 25 is just around the corner. It has been a year and we haven't heard anything. I'm bringing this to your attention because it makes no sense.
My question is for you, Ms. Lowther. Here's what I understand. If we want a positive outcome, we definitely need to consult with you. Unfortunately, the government officials don't just wake up one fine morning and decide to consult with people.
Do you agree or disagree that we absolutely must consult with you in order to provide appropriate housing for veterans, in keeping with the areas of jurisdiction? Please give me your answer in 10 seconds.
