I think the very first thing is to consult with veterans. Even before this motion was brought forward.... Have a conversation with veterans in our community, because veterans have been telling me ever since I was first elected provincially that they were not happy about reservists being taken away from our community. They were never consulted, but even our local politicians and federal members of Parliament were not told. Back in the day, in 2017, this letter that came to Russell Clarke.... I have a copy of it in case anybody wants it. The member of Parliament at that time was blindsided as well. Even in 2020, when Lenore Zann was our MP, she was blindsided. They weren't even communicated with.
Start with communication at the local level, specifically about housing and support services. Talk to people like Justin. They're the people we should be having the conversations with first.
