A lot of the former unit members and the veterans in our community I've talked to about it are quite upset that it's being closed. The status right now is very unknown, as we've all talked about here in the last couple of statements. They would like to know what's happening one way or the other.
Like Ms. Smith-McCrossin and Mr. Small have said, we have a proud military heritage in northern Nova Scotia and in Amherst, and we want to see that preserved. The best way to do that is to keep buildings like this around and repurpose them for better uses if they're not being used properly.
