I would be lying if I said I wasn't somewhat concerned about that. That is why e-cigarettes should not be sold to anyone under the age of 18. Young people must not be encouraged to become addicted to nicotine. We would not tell a patient to drink beer or to drive their car at 150 kilometres an hour. We want the product to be made available, but only to those above 18 years of age. Let's not fool ourselves either. We know that a lot of young people today start smoking tobacco cigarettes when they are 12 or 13, in spite of all the restrictions out there.
In France and England, however, people have been using e-cigarettes for 7 or 8 years now. And the statistics show that non-smokers in England account for less than 1%—in other words 0.5%—of total e-cigarette users. And in France, that figure is between 1% and 1.5%. So we are talking about a very small number of people.
