Thank you.
In regard to access to information, Vanessa's Law also gives the minister powers to obtain information where necessary to determine whether a therapeutic product presents a serious risk. This is important, because Health Canada may need information from a manufacturer to properly assess an emerging safety concern.
If Health Canada receives reports suggesting an NHP may cause serious adverse effects but the available information is incomplete, what authority would the departments have under Bill C-224 to compel the manufacturer to provide the information necessary to assess that potential risk?
