Thank you, Mr. Chair.

I would like to advise members of the committee that I am withdrawing the amendment to the 53^rd report of which I gave you advance notice last week. However, I met with the four independent members last Thursday. I still had Mr. Arthur to see, and I did so yesterday. I gave them my word that I no longer had any intention of amending the regulations. We are going to continue leaving it to the Speaker's discretion to recognize the independent members of the House, as is the case at present.
